He has extensive experience in the area of workers compensation (both state and federal law), including occupational hearing loss and retaliatory discharge claims, and has defended numerous cases at trial before state courts and federal administrative officers.

His civil litigation practice extends to federal courts (both trial and appellate levels), where he has successfully defended employment discrimination cases and handled various admiralty and maritime law matters ranging from Jones Act claims to vessel arrests. A substantial portion of Mr. Brown's trial practice arises from the defense of wrongful death and personal injury claims relating to natural gas utility service.
