During his career, he has tried over 300 jury and non-jury cases in state and federal courts in the areas of medical and legal malpractice, maritime law (including collisions, cargo, personal injury, and the claims under the Longshoreman's and Harbor Worker's Compensation Act), industrial accidents, and trucking and auto accidents. He successfully argued the maritime jurisdiction case of Victory Carriers, Inc. v. Law before the United States Supreme Court, and has also argued numerous cases before the 5th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeal and the Alabama Supreme Court, including various areas of the law. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in American since the inception of that publication.

Mr. Reeves is a founding member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute and has served as its Chairman. He has served on the Executive Committee of The Maritime Law Association of the United States and has served as Chairman of that organization's Committee of Stevedores and Terminal Operators. He is a past president of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and of the Mobile Bar Association. He is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. He has served on the Mobile County Judicial Nominating Commission and is currently serving on the Board of the Federal Defender Program.

He is active in community affairs serving on the Board of the American Heart Association, the IRB Committee of the Mobile Infirmary, and as Chancellor of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He has served as counsel for the Sheriff of Mobile County, Alabama and as a founding member of the John M. Will Scholarship Committee.

Mr. Reeves has been recognized for 2010 by Alabama Super Lawyers.
