Armbrecht Jackson, LLP is committed deeply to the principle of community service. We believe it is both an ethical responsibility and a moral obligation to give back to the communities in which we live and work. Whether providing services to a pro bono client or cause or dedicating time to a local charity, we approach community service with the same level of effort, integrity, and innovative thinking as we do our practice.
INVOLVEMENT AND LEADERSHIP
Improving the quality of life in our communities is a proud tradition and we believe that supporting local charitable activities results in stronger communities. Many of our attorneys serve as volunteer officers, directors, and trustees of charitable organizations, and volunteer their time for such entities.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
- The 11th Annual Heart Ball was held May 6, 2010 at The Battle House. Armbrecht Jackson was a Grand Patron sponsor for the event. Mr. & Mrs. Boyd Reeves attended the event on behalf of the Firm. The American Heart Association is important to Armbrecht Jackson as Mr. Reeves received a heart transplant some 15 years ago and is still going strong today.
- Armbrecht Jackson is a Silver Star Sponsor for the MDA’s Strike Out Against ALS Executive Lock-Up to be held at Hank Aaron Stadium on May 20, 2010. Armbrecht Jackson’s own, Lacy D. Smith will be “arrested” and held until she can raise her $2,600 bail. She is well on her way in meeting her goal. Armbrecht Jackson is proud to support such a worthy cause.
- Armbrecht Jackson is a sponsor for the upcoming 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile’s 10th Annual Gala on May 27th. Dr. Jack Hawkins, Chancellor of Troy University, is the featured speaker. The event is a fund raiser for the Phoenix Program which is an alternative program designed to provide educational opportunities for students who are at the risk of dropping out of school or under long-term suspension from their regular school program. Armbrecht Jackson has seen first hand the success of the Phoenix Program and is proud to be a sponsor of the event.

On May 21st, Armbrecht Jackson participated in the 13th annual Rufus Lee Gumbo Cook-off, which was sponsored by The Propeller Club of Mobile. The Armbrecht team took 2nd place in decorations and 3rd on taste.

On May 20th, Lacey Smith was arrested by the MDA Strike out against ALS Executive Lock-Up. Lacey raised $2,710.00 for ALS, which is also known as Lou Gehrig disease. To volunteer or learn more about events in your local area, please contact your local MDA representative.
Kirk Cordell Shaw was recently inducted into the Friends Circle of the Clara Barton Society for his contributions to the Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter of American Red Cross. Kirk is currently a member of the Chapter's Board of Directors and a former Chairman of the Board. In 2006, he was recognized for his "community involvement and innovative leadership to the Chapter" with the Ralph G. Holberg, Jr. Award.
