David D. Anthony is a business attorney whose practice is focused in the areas of Business and Corporate Transactions, Real Estate, and Wills, Trusts, and Estates. Mr. Anthony is committed to the success of his clients’ business pursuits, and he routinely assists and advises companies from a broad spectrum of industries, including everything from local tech-startups to some of the nation’s largest financial institutions. Mr. Anthony’s legal practice includes a wide range of issues that include business formation, corporate governance, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance – whether local, state, or federal in nature. He is experienced in various federal regulatory matters including the preparation of securities offerings and filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as assisting clients in obtaining certifications from federal agencies such as the U.S. Small Business Administration.
In addition to his corporate practice, Mr. Anthony regularly assists clients in estate and succession planning, including the preparation of Wills, trusts, and end-of-life planning documents. His practice also routinely includes the representation of clients as personal representatives in the often-convoluted probate process, whether such representation involves testate or intestate administration of a decedent’s estate.
Prior to joining Armbrecht, Mr. Anthony worked in Washington D.C., serving as legislative counsel to Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions on Senate Judiciary Committee where he concentrated on matters of bankruptcy law, international trade, and constitutional issues before working in support of the Acquisition Directorate of the United States Coast Guard. In addition to being licensed to practice law in the states of Alabama and Florida, Mr. Anthony is additionally a United States Customs Broker, licensed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection.
Mr. Anthony is originally from Mobile, Alabama, and has deep roots in the community. He is an active member of the Mobile Bar Association and served as Chair of the Probate Section for 2019. He is also proud to have served as a member of the Government Advocacy Board of the Boys and Girls Club of South Alabama.
