Graham/Oppenheimer lead team to defense verdict in Escambia County jury trial

Graham/Oppenheimer lead team to defense verdict in Escambia County jury trial

Duane Graham and Harris Oppenheimer recently obtained a jury verdict in favor of an oil company after a fourteen day trial in Escambia County, Alabama.  The plaintiffs alleged drainage and waste of oil, together with fraud and wantonness, relating to defendants’ well on property adjacent to the plaintiffs’ property. Defendants successfully proved to the jury’s satisfaction that there was no recoverable oil located underneath the plaintiffs’ property.  Plaintiffs’ counsel asked for a verdict of $128,000,000 in closing argument.  The jury returned with a defense verdict in a little more than one hour.
